FM radio approaching its 'tipping point' before digital takes over.

The day when the FM radio signal will be switched off is drawing nearer, the Government indicated, after the UK reached a tipping point.

By the end of 2016, the Government criteria for a switchover decision will have been met. The Government will take stock and make a measured and informed decision about whether to set a timetable for switchover.

Insider sources suggest that the switchover process will begin in 2017 and be concluded by 2020, so by 2021 we will all be tuned in to the digital age.

it’s happened already with Television, it’s happeningto the FM radio frequency's in Denmark, and it’s happening in all aspects of the media, so in essence the FM Frequency's are on a life support machine. and unfortunately it seems that, just like the AM frequency, the FM frequency seems destined for the outdated and minority few.
